Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada
theft and burglary charge
If someone was arrested for the above because they had taken some gift cards from work and they want to make restitution why does the attorney need to wait to go to court. Can he not contact the DA or the company to let them know to speed up the process or drop the charges from at least a misdemeanor than a felony if restitution is made? Thank you

Re: theft and burglary charge
A motion will have to be filed to expedite your case. The District Attorney has so many cases that he does not even assign the case to a particular D.A. until the Preliminary Hearing.
