Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada

trespassing in nevada

Hello, heres my question...I was snowboarding on a handrail in front of a womans house, she called the police and we left for about 45 minutes, came back to get my car and the sheriff was waiting there, the lady then said i was there and told the cop to arrest me. I told the officer that i was dropped off and was walking to a friends house with out a snowboard. What is the penalty for trespassing? and i am going to try to use a public defender to plead not guilty? is that a smart decision? Also is trespassing a misdemenor? thanks

Re: trespassing in nevada

Trepassing is a misdeanor punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of $1,000. In the U.S.A. property rights are protested and it is unlawful to go on other people's property without their consent.
