Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada
WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME (Drug Paraphernalia)
Hi, I live in Reno Nv and I just recently got charged (along with 6 other people) with Possesion of Drug paraphernalia (3 meth pipes, and some baggies) Contributing to a delinquent, and Unlawful to occupy room. I arrived at the hotel two hours before to give rides to drunk people who couldn't drive. When i came bak, i played a game of chess with a buddy and next thing i now i was being cuffed.Simply i was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The officers came to the hotel room at 3:30 AM. This is my first offence EVER. I go to College (GPA 3.0), and work. The minor was 17, but he told everyone he was 18.
They were going to arrest us, but they got lazy and only cited us. Also the officers forgot to give me a copy of the citation. So i was wondering if i can use that to my advantage.
So i was wondering what i had to look forward to in order to get an idea of what i'm going to face. PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME (Drug Paraphernalia)
It sounds like there was probable cause to arrest you. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. However, I would get an attorney or public defender. If you did not have dominion and control over the drugs or drug paraphenalia you are innocent. A good attorney should be able to get you misdemeanor.
