Legal Question in DUI Law in Nevada

Case pending on court date

What does it mean if you show up for your first appearance for a DUI/1st offense, and next to your name, it says case is pending?

Re: Case pending on court date

I would suggest that you open up a dictionary, or use the one on your computer, and look up the word "pending".

Re: Case pending on court date

Thank you for your inquiry.

If your DUI charge is in the Las Vegas or Henderson areas my office would be able to assist you.

Sometimes a DUI charge in Clark County is put in what they call "pending" status if the District Attorney has yet to file formal charges. The most common reason is a back-up in the Court system and your charge is recalendared. A DUI in Clark County may be filed as a formal charge within 1 year of the date of DUI.

If you have any further questions contact my office. We can arrange a phone consultation and discuss your matter. Additinally, if you are out of state we can represent you without your having to appear in Nevada.

Best Regards,

Jim Herbe
