Legal Question in Elder Law in Nevada

I am the legal POA over my ex’s healthcare. The son is POA over the money. His dad has Parkinson’s and dementia. He can no longer make decisions. He has been under our care since late February in our home. I pulled him out of the care home he was in due to poor care. The son is not paying for his care. What can we do? He is violating a legal document, his advanced care directive.

This is a horrible situation. Horrible. You have to find a lawyer to write a letter to the son and hopefully you have money to pay for that. Unfortunately this is a common situation that sounds like a good idea when it's setup, but rarely works out well. At the end of the day, you may have to file paperwork and ask to have a guardian appointed since the son is not stepping up.

Good luck.
