Re: Adult Conservertorship

In Nevada, it is called an Adult Guardianship. You would file a Peition to be Appointed as the Guardian of his Person and Estate. As Guardian of his person, you would decide where he lived and make health care decisions. As Guardian of his estate, you would manage his money and pay his bills and advocate for his best interests in a divorce settlement.

There are certain legal requirements to be apointed as someone's guardian.

I am assuming that both you and your brother live in Clark County, Nevada.

I handle these types of matters.

Re: Adult Conservertorship

The divorce attorney is suggesting that you become your brother's guardian. As his guardian you are acting for him because he is deemed not competent to act for himself. To become his guardian you will need to file a petition and have a letter from his doctor stating that he needs a guardian. Please contact an attorney for assistance and to discuss the necessary steps to become a guardian.
