Alimony

My ex-husband was to pay me a support for six months and pay for for a credit card i paid off for him. All this is in our divorice papers and he has never paid it, can I garnish his wages? I reside in Nv and am not sure if he is in Nv or Ca.

Re: Alimony

If you can find his job you can garnish his wages as long as you have a judgment against him. Otherwise you have to file a motion to get a judgment.

Re: Alimony

You will have to get the amount owed reduced to a money judgment. Then, you can set up a wage garnishment. It is not that difficult a process and fairly effective if you know where he is working. If he is in California, however, a California attorney would have to handle the garnishment.
