Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

I am an American who got married to an asutralian in Tasmania Australia and I want to know if I can get married in the USA without filing for divorce? I never registered my marriage in the USA and we have been separated for more than a year now.

There is no "registration" process in the U.S. as there is for many European countries (and foreign marriages cause many problems for those folks too, whether or not they register them in their home countries.

Short version, if it was a legitimate marriage where and when entered, you are married, and must divorce or have it annulled in order to lawfully marry another. On the plus side, if your ex is cooperative (or perhaps simply does not object) the process can be pretty fast, cheap, and easy, the biggest single delay and expense sometimes being foreign service of process.
