Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

not attending to court

I have a hearing set to check status on child support, child support arrears, and visitation, there is no child support order yet, this because the other party has failed to appear in court many times, the judge has been more than nice about this, in the mean time I have waited 8 months for a child support order and I have sufferred financial hardship during his time, our court date is a few days away and the other party called me to ask if we could change the court dat,,I can't do that I need a child support order now, if he does not go to court, do I win the case? will the judge rule or do I have to wait till they give us another court date? and for the other party to be present, he states he could not get out of work, but we both had the same amount of time to ask for the time off. Can I ask the judge to rule with out him being there?.What are my rights after waiting this long, thanks.

Re: not attending to court

All you can do is refuse to voluntarily continue the hearing and stress to the Judge that you need a ruling.

I hate to say it, but I think you are being kicked around a little because you don't have an attorney. If you like, call my office and we can discuss your situation and what I might charge you to get involved.
