Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

birth certificate and parental rights

I was divorced before giving birth to my son, when I received my son's birth certificate, it had my ex husband's name as the father even though he did not sign the required form from the hospital (for unmarried couples) stating that he is the biological father and no paternity test was done . My ex even denies that my son is his. Is my son's birth certificate valid and does my ex husband have rights to him even though a paternity test wasn't done to prove if he is the father?

Re: birth certificate and parental rights

Paternity these days is done with DNA testing. However, the birth certificate will serve as a presumption that this man is the father unless you get it changed. In order to do that he will probably have to get a DNA test to show that he is not the father.
