Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
Child abuse
My two babies ages two and three were removed from my home for being left alone. we went to court and the case was thrown out, cps was ordered to return my children immediatly. today a detective from the child abuse unit came by my home and advised my babysitter that if i 0r my seventeen year old son did not contact him a warrant would be issued. i called him and he informed me that it did not matter that the court threw the case out, this was now a criminal case. can they double jepordy me like this?

Re: Child abuse
This is not double jeapardy. The trial has to start on the first case for double jeapardy to begin. Often cases get dismissed because there is not enough evidence at the time, and once the evidence is accumulated by the police the charge is made again.
