Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Child Custody

My exwife is seeking custody of our son, she lost custody 4yrs ago when she left the state and the child when we broke up. She has lived many places in the last 4yrs, we are divorced and I have sole custody. She still lives in another state and has remarried. Is there a change she could get custody of our son. He was 2yrs old when she left and just turned 7. I have provided a good home for him for the last 4 years. What should I do to make sure this doesn't happen?

Re: Child Custody

It is unlikely your ex could now get custody. The standard is that she would have to show that there has been a substantial change in circumstances wherein it would be in the best interest of the child for a change of custody. Although there has been a change in her circumstances to perhaps warrant visitation, that change would not justify changing custody.
