Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
child custody
I will need to represent myself in a child custody matter. A 2 day evidentiary hearing is set for June. How do I prepare for this? I had an attorney but due to a fee dispute, she withdrew. I will either have to continue on by myself or back out until I can afford new counsel. If I opted for the latter, how could that affect me? I live in Georgia however case is being heard in Nevada.

Re: child custody
I have to presume that your child is the most important thing in your life and the fact that it is a 2 day evidentiary hearing, the case is pretty nasty. I would borrow from whomever I could to get enough money to do the hearing. You want to get started now so the attorney can properly prepare, especially if there are subpoenas to be issued or depositions to happen before the hearing.
Any decent attorney would charge no less than $5,000 to do a 2 day hearing. If you spend less, you are going to get what you pay for.
