Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
child legal custudy, mediation, and motion for attorney fees.
My question is that I just got a letter from my baby's father stating that there is a motion for joint legal custudy, visitation schedule, request for mediation and motion for attorney fees. His attorney already schedule a hearing appointment for 06/01/2009 @ 10am . But in the first part of the letter it has oral argument request, and it says that I have to file a written response to the motion within 10 days. What is it that I have to do first in regards to this matter?

There is a motion filed and a hearing pending. You have to file a response to pending motion. Talk to an attorney for what should be in your Opposition and what you should be prepared to address at the hearing date.

You need to file a written opposition and countermotion, supporting declaration, opposition fee statement and financial disclsosure statement with the Clark County Family Ct.--601 No. Peocs Rd. within the next 10 days. You will need to pay an appearance fee and set your papework at "Master Calendar". You will need to serve opposing counsel.
Nearly every motion is set for oral argument. That means that both sides will have an opportunity to be heard by the judge.
If you retain a lawyer, that lawyer will probably request, in writing, a written extension from the other side beyond the 10 day limit.

You need to file an opposition to the motion, an answer to his petition and/or get an attorney.
