Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
child support
I was awarded judgment of default by the D.A. Now
the "dad" wants to relinquish all rights and waive
arrears. Do I have to agree to have this happen?
If this does happen what happens to my son's
grandmothers rights? "Dad" is not named on
birthcertificate. I haven't rec'd any money yet.
If he does have his wages garnished, does that
make him automatically entitled to any visitation

Re: child support
Yeah, I'll bet "Dad" wants you to relinquish all arrears. That gets him off the financial hook that you've spent plenty of time snagging him with. Don't do it!
His paying child support has nothing to do with his right to visit the child. If he's fit to visit, he can visit whether or not he pays support. If he's unfit to visit, he pays support whether or not he is entitled to visit.
