Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

child support increase

My divorce decree is in NV. I am in maryland

1 minor child is now 18 and will graduate in June.

mother has never requested an increase in support. I think she may now since support will be ending soon and I have seen action on the clark county web site against our case number.

Can the courts give an increase and backdate it to when I was promoted?

I have been promoted years ago but she never asked the courts for an increase and my decree never stated I had to tell her. I pay her directly with pay deduction not the state. (wasn't ordered to)

There is a restraining order in place against her too so there is no communication.

Please tell me the increase won't go back to when I was promoted! (years ago)

thank you

Re: child support increase

No. The judge's are only allowed to go back to the date that the motion was filed. So at best, you would pay a new amount from January to June 2008 and then you would be done.
