Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Child Support Payments-When do they stop

My husband & I live in OH with our 2 children(8,11).His exwife & child, age 19 live in NV.She started college after HS. She quit college in March. They told us she quit after they cashed the monthly child spt check. Child is going to start college again the end of Aug. Does he have to start paying child spt again when she starts school? Divorce papers say he will pay if she goes to school full time.Does he have to pay if she quits & starts back up again? He has been unemployed for the past 19 months-company filed bank-ruptcy. Has not been able to find work, but never missed a monthly child support payment & never tried to get it reduced while unemployed.

Re: Child Support Payments-When do they stop

In Ohio child support terminates when the child finishes high school or turns 19 whichever occurs first. There is no legal obligation to pay for college unless the decree says so.
