Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
Child support in the state of Nevada
My spouse and I were married in 2002 in the state of New Mexico. We have no children together. She has three children from previous relationships. None of the fathers currently pay child support. All of them NEVER have. Child(1) boy, 17 years of age has lived with us part time but not since July 2005 when we move to Las Vegas. Child(2) Girl ,13 years of age and Child (3) boy, 11 years of age both have lived with us since 2001. All three children bear her last name which is her maiden name. My question is: Am I going to be required to pay child support when we divorce? We currently reside in Las Vegas, NV since 2005. We have been separated for 6 months and currently reside in separate residences. Thank you for your time.

Unless you've adopted the kids you are not obligated to pay child support.

No, not unless you legally adopted them or otherwise agreed to be financially responsible for them.
Your wife's interest in community property continues until the time of the divorce. I wonder why you have been separated and living apart for 6 mos, but have yet to apparently, file for divorce.

No. As long as you never adopted the children you are not financially responsible for them. On the other hand if you want to continue seeing the children, there is a statute giving step parents the ability to see their former step children.
