Your question has too many possibilities to give a short or simple answer. Temporarily, you should contact CPS and see if they will administratively transfer the child to you while they complete their investigation. On the longer term, one question would be how and why the child ended up placed with your ex in the first place. However, there is a presumption in NRS 125.480 that a person as to whom their is clear and convincing evidence of having engaged in an act of domestic violence against the child should not be either a joint or primary custodian of the child. A pretty complete set of materials is posted on our firm web site, at http://www.willicklawgroup.com/child_custody_visitation. You should also review the materials at http://www.willicklawgroup.com/child_support, and lots of other material on the site.

If you decide you would like to discuss this with one of the attorneys of this firm, please take a look at our consultation policies, procedures, and costs, at http://www.willicklawgroup.com/consultation_policies.
