Collecting Unreimbursed Medical Payments
Is there a formal procedure in Nevada for requesting payment of unreimbursed medical expenses from my ex-husband? It is stipulated in the decree that he pay half of any medical expenses not covered. I have sent him via e-mail a copy of the payment receipt from the doctors requesting that he reimburse me for half. How much time does he have to reimburse me before he is considered delinquent? Is an e-mail request sufficient?

If it does not state this in the divorce then 30 days would be a reasonable time. He should get a copy of the bill he is expected to pay as well as a request from you to pay his half. Your remedy is go to to court for an order to show cause why he should not be held in contempt for complying with this part of the decree.
