Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Hi, I have a daughter and shes been living with me since me and her father split in march and We have lived in Nevada Since October.. she went to see him for Christmas break, and now he doesn't want to give her back to me. he lives in California and she has been with him for 8 days what I can I do?

Your question is a bit jurisdictionally complicated -- if you have only lived in Nevada since October, and the dad still lives in the prior place of residence, then that place maintains "Exclusive Modification Jurisdiction." Short answer to your question, however -- wherever you must proceed -- is to file an action and a motion seeking child custody, visitation, and support, if you cannot reach prompt informal resolution.
