Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

My divorce decree, says I am to be restored to my maiden name. Do I have to change my name? All my paper work, property is in my married name and I find it will be difficult, time consuming and expensive to change my name at this point

It is NEVER a good idea to have the legal paperwork and reality vary, but in the real world if you do not do anything to initiate a name change, it probably will never be noticed by anyone, anywhere. The problems tend to come up when someone goes half-way -- and their driver's license does not match their Social Security card or driver's license.

If it has not been a long time since entry of the Decree, consider asking your divorce lawyer to amend that section of the order.
