Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Divorce, Father Custody Rights?

After being married for 2 yrs. my wife and I have decided to divorce. We have 2 girls 13 yrs (not biological, legaly adopted by me from her previous marriage) and 9 months. I have a bad feeling that a custody battle is going to get ugly between me and my wife, as well as very expensive. I know my oldest will want to be with her mom because me and her have just started bonding and mom is well MOM but, I can not allow my 9 month old to be brought up by her mom after knowing numerous issues about her moms mental well being and how she raised our oldest before me and her got married. I would like to get joint custody and move back to Texas were all of my family is to help me raise her. Her mom get no support from her family, she has no family or help here in vegas besides me. The only reason I am here in Vegas was for my wife and daughters. I would like to retain an attorney to help with all legal questions pretaining to divorce and custody rights.

Re: Divorce, Father Custody Rights?

Two issues.

First obtaining primary custody of the youngest.

Second showing that it is in the child's best interest to be relocated to Texas.

I suggest you go to mediation first. A contested divorce will easily cost you $5,000.
