Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Im going thru a divorce and when i left my old house I brought all of the things that were left behind by my (soon to be x) wife, I have had them in my garage for four months, she wants her personal things but wont come get them so I have become a free storage yard. when can I legally dispose of her personal items?

There is no good answer. At the very minimum, give her notice of a time an date to pick them up, and written advance notice that if she does not, you will dispose of them. One way of doing so is to place them all in a storage unit, pay for a month's rental, send her notice of the location, the time limit before they will throw everything out, and a way to get the key, and move on. The trick is to avoid a charge that you destroyed her stuff without adequate notice. Good luck.

I agree with Mr. Willick. You mentioned that you are going through a divorce, meaning it is not over yet. You could file a motion on the issue of disposition of the items. The court may then give her a deadline to get the belongings, after which you would be in the clear. If there is a hearing coming up, you could ask at the hearing too.
