Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Emergency Temp. Custody

I need help fast please! I live in Texas and need to get custody/guardianship of my infant grandson that lives in Nevada. My daughter was arrested and is in jail. The baby is with a relative and is not safe. I was told by an attorney I would have to pay $5000.00 mim. retainer which I dont have. I offered payments but was told no. Can I do this myself and if so how? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Re: Emergency Temp. Custody

If your daughter has not been convicted of anything, I would look into bonding her out of jail. Unless she has a huge amount of bail this should be cheaper and faster.

Contact a bail bondsman in the county where she was arrested.

Re: Emergency Temp. Custody

I would do it for a two thousand dollar retainer and take payments if additional work is required. I also accept credit cards.

It would be very had to do from Texas because it would be done by mail, and if you did it incorrectly, it would take longer. If the baby is not safe, you should not wait.

Re: Emergency Temp. Custody

Thank you for your inquiry. If your daughter is facing a serious charge and will be incarcerated indefinitely you need to File a Petition for Guardianship with a Motion for Emergency Custody Shortening Time.

It would greatly enhance your ability to obtain such temporary custody if you were able to appear in person here in Nevada.

My office handles both family and criminal law matters. If you would like to speak to an attorney in my office contact us via phone. We do accept credit cards, and payment plans with a credit card security.
