if i am going into the army and need to sign over custody to my mom does it have to be signed by a lawyer or just filed with the courts?

You can give your mom a 6 month temporary guardianship which does not have to be filed with the Court. Anything longer would have to be signed by the Judge (not just filed with the Clerk).
