Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

hi, i'm trying to find a sample letter/document that will release me of any financial liability from my spouse until my divorce is final. I'm afraid my spouse will start using his credit cards and build up additional debt which i will be held liable for since we live in a 50/50 split of debt state. It will be a contract both of us will sign. I don't want to be responsible for his financial misdeeds from today on forward.

You can enter into a post nuptial agreement, however if you are about to get divorced anyway, you could address all of that in the petition for divorce. If you can do a joint petition for divorce (if your spouse is in agreement, also called an "uncontested divorce") you will save money in legal costs and fees. If your spouse wants to fight over things that you want, then it will be a contested divorce and more expensive.

If you enter into a post nuptial agreement, it is recommended that both of you have attorneys to review and sign off.
