Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
need to know what to do? Please
My friend has been in a divorce battle for 1 1/2 yrs. The judge granted the divorce in Nov. Her lawyer was supposed to draft the final papers and be done. She has been changing the terms and putting things in that were notT agreed upon or even discussed. My friend keeps sending over corrected revisions to his lawyer. Just Found out his lawyer hasn't been sending them over. Her lawyer has now filed a motion to grant thier drafts based on non-response. My friend had NO clue his lawyer wasn't responding. He found out because he had a meeting set up with his lawyer, they called to cancel and said ''oh by the way......''
What does he do? He can't pay another retainer and I--name removed--guessing needs to file some motion of some sort. He's contacted the Judges clerk and left a message.

He needs to hire another attorney to review what his current lawyer did. Certainly, he should go to court on the day of the hearing to say his lawyer has dropped the ball.
I am willing to review what the lawyer did for a fee and give independent legal advice.
