If you give up your rights as a parent, are you still obligated to pay child support

The answer is "maybe". If child support is waived as a result of the termination of parental rights I have still seen the DA's office pursue child support if the custodial parent gets any form of state or federal aid or insurance for the child. The State's position is that termation without a subsequent adoption doesn't waive the obligation to support that child.
