Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

grandparent vs. cps

in nv, cps removed grandchild from my temp custody after 15 mos w/NO problems-I was hospitalized same day my grown daughter was to have drug test done-she went to lab, but was told it was out of specimen cups, she came to hosp to be w/me and told worker of situation-drug test was clean after my release, then they req. her to clear outstanding warrant-which she did, now they still wont bring my granddaughter home-they know I want guardianship, but they said it wasnt ''agency policy'' only adoption or foster care-worker said supervisor told her to leave baby where she was until nxt hearing-1 week-and tpr hearing date 2 days after-where do I stand now? What can I do to get my granddaughter back? Neither parents following ''case plan'' Baby was happy, secure, loved and thriving-until they took her from US. We have jumped thru every hoop they asked and they still keep stringing us along. I think they want to get $ to adopt out our beautiful blonde blue eyed happy baby girl-this is our BLOOD, and we are BROKENHEARTED!

Re: grandparent vs. cps

With all due respect, you need legal help, you need someone who has been through the system and tell CPS that they are not the end all. Only a judge makes the decision, not CPS. The only thing is that CPS won't walk you through the system for a guardianship, you need to hire a lawyer. They are required under Federal law to get a permanent home within 1 year, thus their policy of no guardianship.

By the way, your daughter may have lied when she said that the lab was out of cups. I have never heard of such a thing. Its like McDonalds running out of hamburgers.

If you would like an appointment, please email and we will set it up.
