Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
joint custody
My daughter is divorced 4 years now. The judge awarded joint custody
to both parties. The children are with each parent for a week at a time-The ex-husband was ordered to pay child support but did not so
my daughter took him to court and he was admonished by the judge.
He still does not pay the child support so now it is in the hands of the
child support division and they are going to garnish his wages. This
man does things just to try and hurt my daughter. My concern is not
for my daughter but for my 2 grandchildren. They both want to be
involved in sports. My husband and I would like to help to get them
involved but on the week that the Ex has them he wont let them
partake in anything that he did not plan. He has 4 other step-children
that he can't afford the same luxuries for, so our grandchildren suffer.
Children can't partake in sports on a team every other week. My
daughter only makes about $22,000.00 a year and cannot afford to
pay for another lawyer. Is there any legal recourse for someone that
can't afford legal fees or does he have the right to keep the kids from
being involved?
