can i leave with my son

My husband and i moved to las vegas, nv now he wants a divorce. Can i take my son and move? What can happen if i do?

If you want to leave Nevada and he has already filed for divorce, you need court permission or written permission from him. If he has not filed for divorce, Nevada will have jurisdiction over custody and visitation of your son until 6 months has passed.

If he has not filed for divorce and you have lived in another state with your son for over six months, that state could exercise jurisdiction over custody and visitation.
