Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Is there a legal way to adopt someone as a sister?

A very good friend of mine is like a sister to me- so much, in fact, that we refer to one another as sisters. Our bond is well beyond just friendship, and a few months back I jokingly remarked that if there was a way to legally make us sisters, i'd do it in a heartbeat.

She responded enthusiastically, and I bagan to wonder- was there a way? I'll be eighteen in less than two months, but she is barely fifteen [although extrordinarily intelligent and much more advanced than usual for her age] I do know that her parents are open to the idea of us becoming legal ''sisters'' if it were possible- so now I must know... Is it?

Thanks for your time.

The older one would have to have the parent(s) of the younger one adopt her.
