Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

I live in Nevada and my sons father lives in California. We have joint custody of my son. The papers were filed in California. My son is going to be 5 years old in March and i want him to start going to school here and share his vactions and holidays with his father. I just want to know what i have to do.

Since California still has jurisdiction and the child's father is still in California, you would have to file a motion to modify custody in California requesting that you have the child on a primary basis during the school year.
