Re: marriage annulment

Under Nevada law, the difference between a divorce and an annulment is the grounds or basis of the lawsuit. A divorce is "no-fault" while an annulment can be based upon a number of "fault-like" reasons, such as a person not being able to legally enter into a marriage (a prior undissolved marriage, being of the same gender, nor not being able to legally give consent to the marriage), or because of other reasons that the law allows a contract to be declared void. An annulment does not result in a decision that the marriage did not occur, nor does allow the marriage license to be hidden. Anyone can check public records to obtain a copy of this marriage license.
