Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

I got married in Carson City, NV in January 2008. He abandoned me and we never lived together as husband and wife. He said that he obtained a divorce but I never signed anything and I don't have any legal papers indicating that we are in fact divorced. I live in Kansas City, MO and I don't know what to do. I have no forwarding address for him or telephone number. He indicated in a letter to me that he moved from that only address I had for him and the post mark on the evelope that the letter came in was from San Francisco, CA.

Sincerely,

Maley Bruno

You could contact Washoe County (Carson City) Court and Clark County Family Court if you think that he may have filed and obtained a divorce in Nevada. They could run your name.

You need to talk to a Missouri attorney if you do not think that you are divorced and see how you go about obtaining a divorce in Missouri.

It is possbile that you might qualify for a Nevada annulment, but I don't know enough of the facts to make that determination.
