Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

I was married in Las Vegas NV in 2002. I found out a few years later that my husband was not divorced from his 2nd wife at the time of our marriage. I left him and have not seen or spoken to him since 10/2005. I reside in NJ he is in AZ i think. I read the annullment statute and it says that under these circumstances it is a void marriage and no legal procedure is necessary. Am I free to get married again or do i have to file for annullment?

The problem is that you have a valid marriage certificate that some one may need to see a Court order saying that it isn't valid. Yes, it is a void marriage, meaning it was never good, but I think it is better safe than sorry. You can get an annulment in Nevada, Arizona, or if you two lived together in New Jersey, there too. If you would like to do it in Nevada, I would charge One Thousand Five Dollars to get you the annulment, including filing fees and if we have to publish in the newspaper, that as well.
