Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Married in Vegas

My spouse and I married in Las Vegas a few months ago. We don't have any children and currently live in California. Do we file for divorce in California or in Nevada? Is this considered an annullment or divorce since the marriage was only a few months?

Re: Married in Vegas

You have to be a resident to file for divorce in Nevada so a divorce would have to be filed in California. If you have a reason for an annulment you can file in Nevada, e.g., you were drunk at the time of the marriage. An annulment only requires that you were married in Nevada and have a legal reason for an annulment.
