Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

money for college of minor children

my original divorce request was for a meager amount for my two children in child support however we never even thought about college expenses at the time now my ex is unwilling to pay for any of it is there something that can be done even though we have been divorced seven years and it was never put into the original decree?

Re: money for college of minor children

Unfortunately, no. If your decree doesn't provide for college expenses, then all support obligations end at age 18 unless the children are in high school at age 18 and then child support continues until the children are age 19 or graduate high school, whichever first occurs. If there is still time to modify child support you could get the statutory increases until they are emancipated and save that money for college.
