Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
Mutual debt between non-married couple
My ex-girlfriend and I accumulated several thousand dollars in debt while we were together and now she refuses to contribute to paying off the creditors. Her credit was poor, she had a previous bankruptcy, so all of it was placed in my name. Do I have any legal recourse? We were living together and splitting bills during this period of time. She even accepted and wore a promise ring and we had made plans to me married in the future, though we never made it as far a formal engagement.

You would have to sue her in Small Claims or civil court. However, you need to have proof she owes you the money other than your word.
