Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

NV Custody

I just served the mother and included

was a JPI. She has since not returned

any of my calls or texts and I know she

is leaving the state. She claims that she

will return, but I am not sure. What can

or should I do??

Your question is not simple and the answer is complicated.

You need to hire a lawyer or at least be willing to spend $100 for a 30 min. consultation.

If she does leave the state with the minor child, you can file an ex parte application asking the court for a "pick up" order especially if you know where she has gone. This will allow local law enforcement in the state where she has gone to, to pick up the child and return the child to Nevada pending a custody determination. Whether she leaves or not, you should file a motion with the court for custody, visitation, child support etc.
