Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
Obtaining divorce degree
My fiance was married and when he separated from his wife she went ahead and filed for divorce under abandonment. he never signed any papers and has a child with her. she is in the military and left the country. he just found out the divorce was final because she remarried. but when he asked for the papers or degree she refuses to give them up. is there anything he can do legally to obtain the papers because he doesn't even know where she filed them. He needs the papers himself to rejoin the army. any help or advice will be great.

You could file a Petition with your local Court for relief in subpoenaing your ex-wife in order to produce the proper divorce documentation. If you have lived in Nevada for over 6 weeks and can show an intent to reside here permanently, you can do so here.
I would consult an attorney before doing so as there may be complex issues involving child support, alimony, and custody of the child.

You can just go to the Court house at 601 North Pecos Road and ask for a copy. They will charge you $1 per page. I would get a certified copy, which is another $3.
