Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

How to prove validity of a divorce?

2 years ago I obtained a divorce through a tribal court in Nevada. I am not Indian and neither is my ex-husband. I have since re-married and have now been told that my divorce may be invalid. How do I find out if my divorce is ''real'' or not? I will need to show this divorce to the INS and if I cannot prove its validity my current marriage will be deemed viod and I will be deported. Please help.

Re: How to prove validity of a divorce?

You divorce may be legal for some purposes but not others. You need to contact an immigration attorney to find out if a tribal divorce will be accepted by the INS or whatever that agency is called now. If it is not accepted you need to get a real divorce, annul your marriage and re-marry after your real divorce.
