Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
Hello, i have received a letter from an attorney that is representing my step father to have me sign , waiver of service of citation and consent to guardianship. what does this mean?
first i have to tell you that my mom is in a coma, it will be a year as of october 13th. it took my half sister and step father 3 days to contact me when this happened. i was not given any say of what was happening to my mom at the time she was brought into icu. she does have a living trust and will with dnrs but myself and the hospital was not privie to anything. everything has become hush hush. this attorney who sent me these papers is my sisters friend and attorney. why is he sending papers to sign with no definition of what i am signing? he is the same attorney who is representing my half sister and my mom in a large lawsuit.my sister has received( which she said is already gone), her money and my mom is about to receive hers where does this money go? if i sign this paper does it go to my step dad. ? my mom would be horrified. thats a long story but their finances were never together, ever. my mom stayed with my step dad because she was afraid of never seeing her granddaughter. my sister controlled them both. tell me if this isnt control .my step dad had over a 700 credit score she talked him into running up his credit cards etc another words she bought computers flat screens furniture for her daughter on his credit now they are doing chapter 7. my moms stuff is disappearing. if i dont sign what happens. ?my half sister will sign of course she ll be in control and my brother is in germany and is very disconnected. i want this..... everything thats is my moms i mean everything money and i know she had 5000.00 mad money at all times is a volt. the 35,0000.00 and the 10.0000.00 that was my moms that became gifts to my half sister and step dad after my moms coma. hmmmm. jewelry clothes car etc my sister also forgets she isnt the only one that has a child i have 3 and my kids should receive something my mom would have wanted that. my half sister is a heavy game betting girl and so is my step dad. if i dont sign can this force them to have everything put into an escrow account and anything that has to do with my moms estate be where we have to be unanimus in where we spend money and for what on my mom . should nt we all have a say ?especially me because i know my mom does not want to live with diapers and ventilator and feeding tubes that is the facts. i feel the need to represent her wishes but i am very scared of my half sister if i fail they will take everything away from me meaning visitation etc. how can i do this diplimaticly??? i know this attorney doesnt have my best interest at heart maybe my sisters but not mine. as it is my step dad and i dont talk do to i thought it was in poor taste to start dating 3 weeks after all this happened. should i get an attorney and what kind. please help i am scared of what will happen. thank you sign or dont sign??????

Sign NOTHING until you have, at minimum, a consultation with a will, trust, and probate expert. If you send us an e-mail I will send you a couple of names of competent attorneys in that area (it is on the fringes of family law, but more a will and estate issue, I think). You should act quickly before the money, stuff, and opportunities for choices, are gone.
This is something that I do but I would charge five thousand dollars, up front. If this is something that you can afford, please email me at [email protected]
