Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
Serving custody papers
My ex-girlfriend is an over the road truck driver. I have custody of our 18 month old son. My ex has no intention of coming back and caring for our child. I need to have her served with custody papers to gain sole custody of our son. I have completed the necessary paperwork and went to the court house to file and they said it has to be served to her in person. She has no permanent address, I can't run all over the US and I need to serve the papers. How can I do this?

Re: Serving custody papers
You would need to hire a process server. The process server might be able to get her served. Alternately, if they cannot get her served, they can prepare an Affidavit of Due Diligence for you. You can then request permission to publish and publish for the requisite time.
Re: Serving custody papers
You need to hire an investigator or licensed process server to do an affidavit of due diligence and then you can get an order to serve by publication.
