to stop adoption petitiion with out natural mothers consent

There is a situation where a couple are petitioning the court for adoption of said minor children with out consent from the natural mother. One of the parties is the natural father. What can be done? They are very sneaky people, using other issues to cloud the main objective!! Could you help?

the natural mother can stop the adoption if she has not signed a consent to the adoption, (typically where a couple pays a mother to have an unborn baby) or mom's rights haven't been terminated. I can definitely stop an adoption if it is happening in Nevada or California.
