Termanation of fathers rights

my son is now almost 11 his father has not been in his life for 10 years. how do i get his rights terminated he pays no child support and we were never married? my son would like to change his last name how do we do this?

You file a Petition To Terminate Parental Rights and notice it for a Court hearing. You will have to serve the natural father with the paperwork.

You would need to a Petiton to Terminate the natural father's parental rights. The court is looking for a situation where the natural father has had no contact and provided no support for in excess of at least 6 months. It sounds as if you meet that criteria. You have to serve the natural father or make best efforts through investigation to locate him.
