Unknown Bigamy

I just married my husband last July in Nevada. We found out yesterday that his short term marriage from years ago was not correctly and legally terminated until Dec. 10th of 2004. They were married and divorced in California. I understand this makes our Nevada marriage invalid. We plan on legally remarrying as soon as possible either in CA or NV. Do we need to file any paperwork first?

You need to annul the first marriage. I would suggest you do that in the state of the void marriage. You cannot legally marry someone before the divorce is final
