Re: Visitation rights

I assume from your post that the dissolution and parenting issues were adjudicated in Nevada and that you moved to Montana. I do not know Nevada law regarding parenting issues, so take these comments as general comments only.

First thing to do is look at the divorce decree, and determine exactly what the court said about custody and parenting issues. If mom is violating that decree, you can move the Nevada court to enforce its decree and hold mom in contempt. In Montana, you would do that in the same district court that issued the decree; I presume Nevada is the same.

You might also have some child support issues if, by not knowing where to send the support, you have not paid in six years. If you move the Nevada court to enforce its decree, it's reasonable to expect that mom will ask the court for arrearages for the last six years.

Re: Visitation rights

Good morning, Sir:

The Nevada Legislature has developed a great basic research

site covering all of the statutes and administrative regulations,

including references to Nevada Supreme Court decisions related

thereto, available at:

http://www.leg.state.nv.us

You may want to look into the chapters on Dissolution of Marriage

on this site. In this regard, I invite your attention to NRS Chapter 125,

which is found at:

http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-125.html

You may want to look into the chapters on Custody and Visitation

on this site. In this regard, I invite your attention to NRS Chapter 125A

and NRS Chapter 125C, which are found at:

http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-125A.html

http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-125C.html

You may want to look into the chapters on Obligation of Support

on this site. In this regard, I invite your attention to NRS Chapter 125B, which is found at:

http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-125B.html

There may be other laws affecting your ability to resolve a divorce,

support or custody problem, which is necessarily beyond the scope

of this reply.

I charge $200.00 per hour for consultation, document review, case

analysis, advice, suggesting and recommending alternatives, legal drafting, telephone calls,

legal research and prosecuting or defending divorce, annulment, separate maintenance,

support and custody actions when a client hires me.

The Nevada State Bar provides this general information online

regarding lawyer fees:

http://www.nvbar.org/publicServices/pamphlets/LawyersCharge.pdf

If I do not hear back from you by Friday, July 6, 2001, I will assume

that you have answered your questions to your own satisfaction,

hired another lawyer, or decided against pursuing the matter.

I hope this is of assistance to you.
