Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada
My wife and I have joint custody of our 2 kids. The kids are with her on weekends. She sends our son to her exstepfather's place for the weekend. From what I understand, he smokes marijuana. He has a lot of health problems, so it may or may not be medical marijuana. I know several years ago he used to smoke it, and I know for a fact that back then it wasn't medical marijuana. Regardless, I'd rather my son not be around someone who smokes pot. What can I do about this?

You have several options, each with its own costs and benefits.
Fastest, cheapest, easiest, and least stressful would be to have a calm conversation with your ex, noting your concerns, and suggesting alternative placements for the time otherwise spent there.
If that cannot happen, for whatever reason, you could always request mediation of the child-custody schedule through the Family Mediation Center.
And if that does not appeal to you, you could always choose to file a motion for the same relief.

You should probably seek consultation with an appropriate family law specialist. I would suggest starting your search with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Nevada chapter of which can be viewed at http://www.aaml.org/go/fellows/fellows-by-state/?showResults=true&state=NV.
If you decide you would like to discuss this with one of the attorneys of this firm, please take a look at our consultation policies, procedures, and costs, at http://www.willicklawgroup.com/consultation_policies.
